Extension Springs
Extension springs are available in a variety of materials, the most common being carbon steel or stainless steel, depending on the environment into which the spring is entering. End coils can be single or double German loop, single or double English loop, side loop, extended hook loop or even no loops according to application. More technical ends are available i.e. swivel hook, reduced/enlarged diameter loop or screw end on request. Wire size from 0.25 mm (0.010″) up to 19 mm (0.750″). We have facilities for both hand-made and automated spring manufacture.

Q . Are Extension Springs and Torsion Springs the same?
A. No, but they are similar. On a door for example an extension spring will expand and contract when operating.
A torsion spring in such an application will last longer because they are sturdier and turn during operation
